With the final online showcase for the PlayStation 5 happening on 16 September, and the imminent release date of 20 November leaked by Amazon Japan, PS fans are eagerly waiting to find out how much this will all cost.
But just before the stream event, Sony has just rolled out a “The Edge – Play Has No Limits” live-action commercial to tease fans further. The commercial is so beautifully executed that makes us wish it were made into a movie.
“It’s really just talking about who we are as a brand and exciting and thrilling our fans,” PlayStation’s global head of marketing, Eric Lempel tells Variety. “We want to excite and thrill you. We want to show them a path to the mysterious unknown… what you’re seeing is them coming to the edge and then going beyond. And really, that’s what we’re trying to signal here. It’s not about the features. It’s a brand spot.”
