Season 5 will give The Boys a climactic send-off, as showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed that the fifth season would be the show’s final one. The Boys was renewed for Season 5 weeks before Season 4’s premiere, which will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
Kripke said the announcement was “always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought,” and that he was “thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax.” Season 5 is currently in development, and Kripke also previously teased that it had “crazy sh-t” in store.
While Amazon had been happy to continue the show for more seasons, the decision had been Kripke’s, saying “when they saw that I was pretty dead set on Season 5, they went along with it. And I really am grateful.”
But that’s not all from The Boys, which currently has a second season of spin-off show Gen V in production, and two other projects in development, one of which is set in Mexico. While the main show is coming to a close, the franchise isn’t quite done yet and will continue in its spin-off projects.
The Boys Season 4 will release on Amazon Prime Video on 13 June 2024.
