The Boys are back for one last ride, as Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for the superhero epic’s fifth and final season ahead of its premiere on 8 April 2026.

First unveiled at CCXP 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil, the nearly two-minute trailer gives a first look at the upcoming season, which follows the events of Season Four’s finale and sees Hughie (Jack Quaid, Novacaine), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso, Fast & Furious), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone, When Heroes Fly) imprisoned in a makeshift prison known as Freedom Camp. The world is now ruled under a ruthless dictatorship from Homelander (Anthony Starr, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant), so it’s up to everyone’s favourite anti-hero Billy Butcher (Karl Urban, Dredd) to mount a resistance and end the Supe threat once and for all.
The final season will also see the return of familiar faces like Annie January, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty, Jessica Jones), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara, Bullet Train), and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles, Supernatural), with the latter even reuniting with his Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki, who appears in the trailer in a yet-to-be-specified role. Homelander’s son Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) also makes a brief appearance, sporting his father’s laser eyes, signalling that he has finally learnt to control his abilities, although whether he will use them for good or evil remains to be seen.
In true The Boys fashion, the trailer is filled with blood and guts, which seems to imply that not all of our favourite characters might make it out alive this time around. Season Five will kick off with two episodes, with the remaining six released each week after and leading up to the series finale on 20 May 2026.
The Boys Season Five will premiere on Prime Video with its first two episodes on 8 April 2026, with the final chapter’s logline reading:
It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.
