With Prime Video’s Fallout Season Two just on the horizon, its showrunners are already looking to avoid a common issue with TV series nowadays, long wait times, with the goal to start filming Season Three in Summer 2026 and release it as fast as possible.

This comes via an interview between Fallout executive producer Jonathan Nolan and IGN, where he revealed that the team is “hoping to be shooting again next summer”. “I’m excited that, though the scope of the show feels undiminished season on season… our incredibly talented cast and crew were able to work quickly enough to get back on the air in a reasonable amount of time.”
Nolan also addressed the common trend in the industry nowadays, where the time between TV seasons is getting longer, potentially causing audiences to lose interest while waiting for the show to come back.
“I think what’s happened with television in terms of just taking longer and longer from season to season is kind of an unfortunate trend,” he added, emphasising that he wanted to find a balance between pushing out the third season quickly while not losing the quality fans expect. “You don’t want the show to lose any of its scope, but we know that we’d like to be back on the air as soon as we can.”

Indeed, Fallout is already setting the trend of shortening gaps in between seasons, with its second chapter arriving one and a half years after the first, which is already faster than most modern series’ average wait time of two years. If Fallout Season Three can maintain this same standard while not losing any of its production value, it will certainly do wonders in setting a positive trend in the industry.
Fallout Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video on 17 December 2025.
