Sony’s Masters of the Universe Movie Will (Finally) Start Filming This Summer

The last anyone heard about the Masters of The Universe film was that it was going to be delayed. The movie was originally slated to release in theatres worldwide on 5 March 2021, but it was completely removed by Sony with no mention of a new premiere date or cancellation at all.

Fans of He-Man were left in a tizzy but fret not, as Prince Adam himself (well technically actor Noah Centineo) has announced that the movie is finally starting filming.

In an interview with Harpers Bazaar, the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star shared his routine in preparing to be the most powerful man in the universe so that he could look the part when filming starts in Summer.

The outlet wrote: ” For the Masters of the Universe, Centineo, in preparation to play He-Man, bulked up 30 pounds of muscle last year (eating 11 eggs for breakfast on the regular), only to then shed the weight because production pushed filming back to this summer.”

Whilst this does not hint at a release date, it sure eases worried fans that the film is not in threat of cancellation.

In the meantime, the Centineo-led Masters of the Universe movie is not the only thing that He-man fans can look forward to. The original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series are getting rebooted on Netflix. Directed by Kevin Smith, the two He-Man TV series will be coming to Netflix in the new future.
