Noah Centineo, star of To All The Boys I Loved Before and The Perfect Date, is set to star as the next He-Man.
According to Variety, Centineo will be starring as the next He-Man for Sony Picture’s fantasy adventure film Masters of the Universe where Centineo will lead as the ‘Most Powerful Man in the Universe’.
Masters of the Universe will be based on the highly successful line of He-Man toys by Mattel. The toyline was so popular that it also served as the basis for the animated TV series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe which played from 1983 to 1985, as well as the 1987 film Masters of the Universe.
He-Man is the alter ego of Prince Adam of Eternia, who is able to transform into a powerful warrior with the help of the magical Power Sword. With the help of his allies, He-Man battles against the villainous Skeletor who seeks to conquer and rule over the world of Eternia.
Though Centineo has not starred in any big action movies (yet), the star is steadily gaining popularity, especially after starring in Netflix’s successful To All The Boys I Loved Before. He is also set to star in the sequel to that film which is currently in the works. Not just that, Centineo will also be in the upcoming Charlie’s Angel reboot happening later this year.
Aaron and Adam Nee are both currently set to direct the film, with a script rewritten by Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The original script was written by David S. Goyer, who is also the executive producer of the film.
Masters of the Universe is set to release on March 5, 2021.
