Fans were left disappointed when DC and Warner Bros. announced release dates for a number of movies but Shazam 2. But with the recent announcement of The Flash’s release date, fans would be happy to learn that Shazam 2 is scheduled to premiere April 1, 2022.
And no, it’s not an April’s Fools prank.
Zachary Levi is coming back to star as the hero we love. Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer are expected to come back too. David F. Sandberg will be directing the movie and Henry Gayden will be writing.
The film is an addition to the Black Adam film that’s currently in the works. Starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Black Adam, the antihero and rival to Shazam will arrive three and a half months before the sequel. With the arrival of Black Adam on December 22, 2021, we’re hoping we’d get to see a little cameo of Shazam in the movie.
DC’s got quite a list of movies due for the big screens in the next coming years. Due to premiere in 2020 are Wonder Woman 1984 and Birds of Prey.
