Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant And More To Take Part In Black Mirror’s ‘Death to 2020’ Netflix Special

We’re sure most of you will be more than happy to bid 2020 goodbye and as we approach the end of a frankly awful year, there is perhaps no better way to see it go than with the Black Mirror special, Death to 2020

Netflix just teased the upcoming release of the special episode on its YouTube channel with a trailer that frankly doesn’t reveal much aside from describing Death to 2020 as a “comedy event” that will include the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Lisa Kudrow, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Leslie Jones, Diane Morgan, Cristin Milioti, and Joe Keery.

According to Deadline, the Netflix special will be a mockumentary that tells “the story of the dreadful year that was — and perhaps still is?” Grant himself has revealed in an interview with Vulture that he plays a “historian who’s being interviewed about the year. I’m pretty repellent, actually!”

The full description for the show is as follows,

2020: A year so [insert adjective of choice here], even the creators of Black Mirror couldn’t make it up… but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a little something to add. Death to 2020 is a comedy event that tells the story of the dreadful year that was — and perhaps still is? This landmark documentary-style special weaves together some of the world’s most (fictitious) renowned voices with real-life archival footage spanning the past 12 months.

A release date for the show has yet to be announced, but considering how we’re already in the last month of the year, we imagine it won’t be too long till we see the Netflix special released.
