Rocksteady Killing Support For ‘Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’ After Season 4

Another live service game has dug itself into an early grave, and this time, it’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady has announced that it will end support for the game in January 2025 after Season 4, which marks the last new content for the title.

Revealed via its official blog post, the game’s final season will feature a new playable character, Deathstroke, a medieval-themed Elseworld end-game content inspired by DC’s Dark Knights of Steel comic book series alongside finally offering an offline mode.

While Rocksteady is ending its content releases for the game, its main story campaign will continue to be playable offline and via co-op. The title, its in-game store and LutherCoin currency will remain available for purchase alongside all previously released seasonal content. The studio has not revealed any news on how long it plans to keep the game online after Season 4 concludes.

The game’s end of service comes as no surprise, considering its declining player count, sitting at a meagre 1,000 24-hour peak player count as of the time of writing. The title’s poor performance also reportedly led to a double-digit drop in revenue for Warner Bros. Discovery earlier this year, and with its unfortunate early demise, it joins the infamous ranks of axed live service titles this year such as Firewalk Studio’s Concord and Ubisoft’s XDefiant.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will launch its final season with the release of Episode 7 on 10 December, and will conclude with Episode 8 in January 2025.
