Chris Evans is set to make his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, reuniting with Robert Downey Jr. and directors Anthony and Joe Russo. The news, confirmed by The Wrap, has reignited fan speculation about the multiverse and the potential roles Evans could play in this instalment of the Multiverse Saga.
While Evans’ role remains under wraps, the possibilities are endless in the multiverse. His iconic portrayal of Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, concluded in Avengers: Endgame with the character living out a peaceful retirement after returning to the past. Yet, the multiverse allows for countless iterations of Rogers, leaving open the chance of Evans stepping back into the role.
Alternatively, Chris Evans could surprise audiences by reprising his role as Johnny Storm, a character he briefly revisited in this year’s Deadpool & Wolverine. However, considering the introduction of the MCU’s Fantastic Four, it seems unlikely.
