A new video game based on the popular The Adventures of Tintin comic series in Europe is in the works for PC and consoles.
The game is being developed by Moulinsart, in partnership with Publisher Microids, and will centre around the investigative reporter Tintin and his trusty dog Snowy.
“We have been willing to make this happen for quite some time. This announcement is the result of a creative process allowing us to define precisely how this project will take shape and the two companies will interact,” said Microid CEO Stephane Longeard.
He added, “This really is a dream come true for us. The Adventures of Tintin transported millions of readers worldwide and this opportunity will allow us to put our talents at the service of one of the biggest creators of the 20th century and its inked hero: Our team members are fans of the famous reporter and will do their best to pay this franchise a vibrant homage. We can’t wait to kick-off this project!”
The game has been described as a new action-adventure game that will bring players a “whirlwind of incredible situations and suspense” alongside Tintin and Snowy. Other iconic characters from the series such as Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and detectives Thompson and Thompson will also be making appearances in the game.
A title and release date for the game will be announced in due time, along with details on the game’s specific release platforms.
