It seems that, after five long years, we might be getting our first peek at the next Batman Arkham game this year during the DC FanDome virtual event taking place on 22 August.
The event, which will run for a full 24 hours, will feature not just the likes of creators from various DC movies under Warner Bros. The gaming arm of the company, WB Games, will also make an appearance, with “new announcements” to be revealed there.
Interestingly, movie fans do know what exactly they’ll be expecting, with the likes of Matt Reeves The Batman, the Snyder Cut of Justice League, and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad being name-dropped in the DC FanDome press release. The game development side, on the other hand, has been curiously coy about what it will bring to the day-long event.
What these announcements are remain to be seen, though it wouldn’t be far off to assume that it could be the new game, which has been teased quite a few times now. The last we had heard of this curious new title was back in February, when various images and symbols have been shared by developer WB Montreal on its social media feeds.
As of now, we can only speculate, but we’re really hoping we’ll get to see a sequel to Batman Arkham Knight, or even a full-on reboot as was teased before, especially since the next console generation is nigh upon us.
