Here’s A Closer Look At The Batmobile Muscle Car From Matt Reeves’ The Batman

As we patiently wait for filming and eventual release of The Batman in 2021, we can be assured that Matt Reeves and his crew are steadily making preparations to go back into production as soon as the quarantine finally lifts.

To whet fans’ appetites a little bit, the film’s concept model maker Jeff Frost recently posted up pictures of a model of the new Batmobile (via @TheBatRobert on Twitter), which was teased by Reeves back in March, offering us a closer look at the machine that will be driven by Robert Pattinson’s Batman.

From afar, the Batmobile very closely resembles a souped-up Ford Mustang 1968. Despite its very understated design compared to the likes of previous iterations, there are a couple of noticeable tech upgrades situated on the hood, grill, and rear engine areas.

What exactly these attachments do remains to be seen, though it wouldn’t be too far off to expect something extraordinary to happen. In any case, it should tie in to the film’s overall dark tone, as suggested by Andy Serkis, who plays Alfred Pennyworth.

The Batman releases in theatres on 1 October 2021.
