Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond Will Be Playable On The Oculus Quest 2 At Launch

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new game in the Medal of Honor franchise. With the upcoming release of the VR title Above and Beyond, what better way to celebrate it as a part of the new Oculus Quest 2 catalogue?

The new trailer below, as well as a recent Oculus blog post, showcases the game’s multiplayer modes, which includes classic modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Domination. Two new multiplayer game modes were teased, such as Blast Radius, which is an “explosive take” on the classic King of the Hill mode, where players have to plant bombs to detonate successfully while trying to defuse enemy bombs.

Mad Bomber is the other new multiplayer mode exclusive to VR, where players have to hunt for bombs with their eyes as well as their ears, using the VR headset’s 3D positional sound to locate said bombs before they detonate.

Additionally, players can expect a whole slew of weapons and multiplayer maps to choose from. As with typical shooters, each gun will handle and shoot differently, which encourages players to adopt different playstyles depending on their weapon of choice. In the blog post, Multiplayer Lead Nathan LaMusga encourages new players to head to the training range to practice their weapon skills first before duking it out in multiplayer.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond will be playable on Oculus Quest 2 (buy it on Amazon.com and Amazon.sg), as well as Oculus Rift and select headsets compatible with Steam VR.
