Kate Bishop Announced For Marvel’s Avengers As Next Free Post-Launch Hero, Voiced By Ashly Burch a.k.a Aloy

As we count down the days to the long-awaited release of Marvel’s Avengers, we’re already getting a sneak peek at what’s to come post-launch. Previously, we learnt that Clint Barton/Hawkeye and Peter Parker/Spider-Man would be joining the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but it looks as though he won’t be the only archer to join the fight against AIM.

At Crystal Dynamics’ latest War Table episode, it was revealed that Kate Bishop, more famously known as Barton’s protégé and the second Hawkeye in the comics, will also be coming to the game post-launch. Despite Hawkeye and Spider-Man being announced first, she will be the first DLC character to be making their way to the game.

From what we can see in the trailer, it seems that Kate Bishop has some form of teleportation ability, which means her playstyle will differ slightly from that of Hawkeye’s. But how different exactly remains to be seen, though we do know that her storyline will pick up from where the events of the base game left off, and in some way will also be the basis for Hawkeye’s debut in the game.

While many will be fawning over her sick archery and martial arts skills, those more well-versed in the gaming space would recognise the voice to be that of Ashly Burch, who most famously voiced Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn. It seems that Ms. Burch has an affinity for bows and arrows, not that we’re complaining.

In any case, Kate Bishop’s introduction will be one more reason to check out Marvel’s Avengers when it launches on 4 September for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
