The first day of 2023 did not shine well on Jeremy Renner (Avengers, The Bourne Legacy)/ The Hawkeye actor was rushed to hospital after being involved in a snow ploughing accident.
It was revealed after an investigation by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department that Renner had retrieved his Sno-Cat, an extremely large snow removal equipment, to rescue a family member who had been stranded in the snow while driving the Avengers actor’s vehicle. Renner had stepped out of the Sno-Cat to speak to his family member when the machine began to roll. The actor then tried to hop back onto the Sno-Cat but got run over. Eyewitnesses even reported not being able to see Renner until after the Sno-Cat halted in a pile of snow.
According to Renner’s representation, the actor underwent two surgeries after suffering blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries due to the accident. The actor is currently recuperating in the intensive care unit in ‘critical but stable condition’. The Arrival actor updated anxious fans on Tuesday via Instagram with a selfie and gratitude for their concern.
This act of heroism is not too much of a shock for the Reno community with Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, in a statement to the Reno-Gazette Journal, revealing that Renner is always helping others.
The actor’s family has also expressed their thanks to all who have aided and offered their love during this period and, like most fans, wish for Renner’s speedy recovery.
