‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ Key Visuals Revv Up Hype For Culling Game Arc And 2025 Compilation Movie

Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen are in for a double treat, as the anime’s stage event at Jump Festa 2025 has reignited hype for its continuation with two new key visuals. The first, dubbed a “super teaser visual”, offers a look at the upcoming adaptation of the Culling Game arc, while the other focuses on Season 2’s Hidden Inventory arc, set to be compiled into a theatrical feature.

The latter was announced with a release date of 30 May 2025, bringing together the story Satoru Gojō and Suguru Getō during their time in school, and when they were still friends. It ran the initial course of the anime’s second season, which also adapted the Shibuya Incident arc of the manga. The sophomore outing aired from July to December 2023 across two consecutive cours (quarters of a year), following its 24-episode debut in 2020.

A sequel series based on the Culling Game Arc is currently underway, with MAPPA returning to helm the production. There’s no word on a release date yet, though a 2025 window looks highly plausible.

The anime is based on Gege Akutami’s manga of the same name, which concluded earlier this year and disappointed many readers as it ran out of steam. Jujutsu Kaisen was named the world’s popular anime by the Guinness World of Records and led the charge for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024, with a synopsis that reads:

“Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.”
