The highly anticipated arrival of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 is upon fans, and TOHO Animation has dropped creditless videos for the anime’s opening and ending theme songs to celebrate the occasion.
As previously announced, King Gnu performs the first, titled “AIZO”, with the animation sequence presented as a patchwork of artwork-like cuts. References to several iconic paintings, including John Everett Millais’ “Ophelia” and Vincent van Gogh’s “The Scream,” flash in between high-octane, explosive scenes of Yuji Itadori and his group of sorcerers in action. Meanwhile, the ending soundtrack, “Yoake no Uta”, or “Song of Dawn”, hails from jo0ji.
The third season began its broadcast as a one-hour special on 9 January, and is set in the aftermath of Season 2’s Shibuya Incident. Based on the ninth arc in Gege Akutami’s manga of the same name, the Culling Game Arc follows Yuji, Megumi, and their allies as they enter the Culling Game with the intention of rescuing Tsumiki Fushiguo from participating, freeing Satoru Gojo from Prison Realm, and protecting Tengen from Kenjaku.
Shota Goshozono, who helmed the previous outing, directed Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, and Studio MAPPA is back again on the animation front. Hiroshi Seko writes the series composition, while Yosuke Yajima and Yoshimasa Teuri serve as character designer and music composer, respectively.

The series was named the world’s popular anime by the Guinness World Records and led the charge for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024. Crunchyroll describes its story as follows:
“Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organisation that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.”
