A first-look teaser visual has been unveiled for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, giving us the first proper look at First Division captain Gen Narumi, alongside a July 2025 premiere date.

Announced during Shueisha’s Jump Festa 2025 event, TOHO Animation’s latest poster shows off arguably the most important member of the First Division, the proclaimed “strongest anti-Kaiju combatant” Gen Narumi, who will be voiced by Koki Uchiyama. The character was previously teased in the finale of Season 1.

Shigeyuki Miya is set to return as director of the second season, alongside screenwriter Yuichiro Kido, character designer and chief animation director Tetsuya Nishio, Kaiju designer Mahiro Maeda, and music composer Yuta Bando. The main Japanese voice cast will also return to reprise their respective roles in season 2.

In addition, a compilation film of the show’s first season will be screened in Japan on 28 March 2025, recapping not only its events but also including a special unreleased side story, “Hoshina’s Day Off”, which follows Soshiro Hoshina’s antics as he takes some time off from killing Kaiju. The episode is also set to feature a new ending song from One Republic, “Invincible.”

Production I.G.’s Kaiju No.8 anime was adapted from Naoya Matsumoto’s original action manga, which debuted on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ online website on 3 July 2020. The show follows Kafka Hibino, a member of the Kaiju cleanup unit Monster Sweeper Inc., who gets infected by a monster and gains the ability to transform into a Kaiju himself.

Season 2 of Kaiju No.8 will premiere in July 2025 on Crunchyroll.
