JJ Lin & Projection Mapping Spectacle Dazzle At A Night Of Disney+ Singapore Launch

Disney knows how to put on a show, and they pulled all stops with “A Night of Disney+” on the evening of 24 February 2021, at the Marina Bay area, to celebrate the launch of Disney+ in Singapore.

Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board and Marina Bay Sands, the celebration featured celebrity music performances and Singapore’s single largest projection mapping show ever, spanning across Marina Bay Sands, Fullerton Hotel, The Merlion Park, and Gardens by the Bay. The event was televised simultaneously on TV via Ch 5/8 and StarHub’s Ch 111/825. as well as streamed on meWATCH and Disney+ SG’s Facebook page.

This is the way.

The night of festivities was hosted by local celebrities Bobby Tonelli and Nikki Muller, the same geeky pair who hosted the epic Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet event in 2018, also held at the Marina Bay Sands.

Raya and the Last Dragon cast members Kelly Marie Tran and Awkafina kicked off the celebrations with special greetings for Singapore Disney fans.

This was followed by a soulful rendition of “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” (from Toy Story) by Nathan Hartono.

This was followed by local musicians Annette Lee and Benjamin Kheng performing a series of Disney duets which included “Beauty and the Beast” (from Beauty & The Beast), “Reflection” (from Mulan) and “Part of Your World” (from The Little Mermaid).

And finally, international singer-songwriter sensation, and of course, Singaporean JJ Lin (林俊傑), performed for the first time ever, on the rooftop of the ArtScience Museum. His performance included a medley of Disney classics: “A Whole New World” (from Aladdin), “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (from The Lion King), “Let It Go” (from Frozen) and “Embark/ 最 嚮往的地方” (from Soul).

Here are the individual performances for your viewing pleasure.
