Ah, summer. The season for big blockbusters, thrilling action, and… sharks? While Spielberg’s Jaws remains among the best summer flicks of all time, it’s time to up the ante for this year’s summer shark sensation with The Meg starring Jason Statham, Li Bing Bing, and Rainn Wilson.

Over-the-top adventure awaits, as a brief synopsis of the movie reads:

Two hundred miles off the Chinese coast, a 75-foot-long prehistoric shark called Megalodon, thought to be long extinct, rises from the depths of the ocean and attacks a research submersible. Diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) — who has encountered the monster before — is called into action to help rescue the crew and stop the the greatest and largest predator of all time before it attacks the mainland.

Now this is a creature that will have even great whites cowering in fear! Rainn Wilson himself, who plays wealthy businessman Jack Morris in the film, affirms the movie as an absolute thrill ride and the perfect summer film in our recent interview.
