It seems like anime is taking over Netflix by storm this year as the release date of yet another animated series has been announced. The anime adaptation of Capcom’s famous action-adventure RPG game Dragon’s Dogma will premiere on the streaming giant from 17 September 2020.

Netflix dropped the official poster for the show via Twitter earlier today. The streaming platform first announced its plans for the series back in 2019.

After celebrating the success of Konami’s Castlevania series, its no wonder that Netflix will be more than willing and capable of producing another exciting game-to-anime-adaptation. The plot follows Ethan’s quest to vanquish the Dragon that took his heart. But, his struggle to retain his humanity is challenged every step of the way by demons who are the incarnates of mankind’s seven deadly sins.

Sublimation studios, led by director Atsushi Koishikawa, will be developing the Dragon’s Dogma anime. They are the same studio who did the CG production for popular series such as The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and even Netflix’s Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 (via Anime News Network).

The game developed a cult following after its release back in 2012 and fans can’t wait to get their hands on more content. Hopefully, the trailer will be revealed to us soon!
