Disney+ is finally landing on our sunny shores on 23 February 2021, available for download on a majority of compatible Android and Apple devices, but do not expect the same availability across smart TVs and game consoles here.
Due to the different operating systems used by some smart TV brands and other smart devices here, the rollout isn’t as seamless as on Android and iOS devices. As some smart TVs have been around since the start of the decade, older smart TVs may not support Disney+ either.
Also, some older smart TVs aren’t 4K ready either, so if you want to watch The Mandalorian or WandaVision in ultra high definition glory, it’s time for an upgrade.
And even if your smart TV doesn’t work, there is also the option of casting or throwing content from your smartphone to your TV, if your TV supports it that it. Also do remember that Disney+ is available as a standalone service direct from Disney, so you do not need an existing cable TV service, just a fast fiber broadband service to power the service.
To make things easier though, we’ve done the homework for you and checked in with the different brands on having Disney+ available on their various devices.
