Disney Delays Entire Marvel’s 2022 Slate And Indiana Jones 5

Disney and Marvel have just announced delays for their 2022 Marvel films.

The shifts are a domino effect of pushing back one movie. Some titles are still in production so pushing one film causes a chain reaction delay where all the other movies that come after it gets delayed too.

Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will now kick off summer 2022 on 6 May 2022 instead of opening on 25 March 2022. That means Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder will be moving from 6 May to 8 July 2022 instead.

Movies being moved also include:

  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is moving from 8 July to 11 November 2022.
  • The Marvels is moving from 11 November to 17 February 2023.
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is moving to 28 July 2023.

The only Marvel movie sticking to its release date is Eternals on 5 November 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home on 17 December 2021 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is currently slated to release 5 May 2023.

Alongside Marvel delays, Disney is also delaying the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie to 30 June 2023. Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as the titular character, alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen.
