Designers (or anyone with any creative ideas), get your brain juices flowing because Uniqlo just announced its design theme for this year’s Uniqlo T-Shirt Grand Prix (UTGP) 2019 design competition.
And the theme? Pokemon!
Interested participants can submit their designs from October 23, 2018, to December 2, 2018, 11:59 PM JST. The winning design will be sold in Uniqlo stores worldwide for their Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
Uniqlo, working together with The Pokemon Company, is offering these prizes to the winners:
- Grand Prize: US$10,000, Special Trophy, Invitation to the Award Ceremony in Tokyo, Invitation to the 2019 Pokemon World Championships.
- Second Prize: US$2,000, Invitation to the Award Ceremony in Tokyo, Invitation to the 2019 Pokemon World Championships.
- Third Prize: US$1,000, Invitation to the Award Ceremony in Tokyo, Invitation to the 2019 Pokemon World Championships.
- Runner-Ups (Multiple): US$500
Judges for the competition are The Pokemon Company President Tsunekazu, Game Freak designer Ken Sugimori, and UT Creative Designer NIGO and others.
Uniqlo has always put out great designs in collaboration with other properties, like Star Wars and Marvel. We can’t wait to see the designs that come out of this competition and collect them all.
