It seems ‘chill’ isn’t in Nintendo and Intelligent Systems’ vocabulary. Just a month after releasing Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, which, mind you, is a 100-plus-hour game, the companies have announced a separate expansion pass that will roll out in three waves.
The news comes after the mention of “in-game purchases” in its ESRB listing, with the first part out now. Featuring four additional weapons modelled after Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses, it will be followed by Wave 2 in Holiday 2026 and the third drop in 2027. The former includes fresh wearable outfits for Cai, Dietrich, Leda, and Theodora, alongside three new allies: Aurora, Jurah, and Smyrnos, while Wave 3 introduces new allies, new classes, and expanded stories focusing on Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia.
Purchasing the DLC grants access to all three phases as they are released, and no exact launch dates have been set for the remaining two add-ons. Cai, Dietrich, Leda, and Theodora are also now available as playable units in the Fire Emblem Heroes mobile game as part of a celebratory banner and event.

As for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, the 18th mainline instalment takes place in the same world as Three Houses and is set within the Dagdan Empire. Players assume the role of four warriors in the Heroic Games to gain their heart’s desire, and a hero chosen by the progenitor god Sothis to ensure their survival against the demon god Balor, with gameplay comprising turn-based mechanics, grid-based combat, and a party system.
