Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland And Chris Conrad Join John Cena In Peacemaker Spin-Off Series

First, he joins James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as Peacemaker and then he receives his own spin-off series on HBO Max based on said character. It seems like John Cena really wants us to see him. Like, really see him.

Whilst Cena will be starring in the Peacemaker spin-off series as the superhero slash supervillain slash the world’s biggest douchebag, he will be joined by Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad.

Brooks, best known as Taystee in Orange Is The New Black, will play opposite Cena was Leota Adebayo. The exact nature of her role in the series is still kept under wraps. Patrick (The X Filers) will star as Auggie Smith and Holland (Brightburn) will reprise her role as Emilia Harcourt from Gunn’s The Suicide Squad movie. Conrad (Patriot), on the other hand, will join the fun as the chaotic vigilante, Adrian Chase.

The unnamed Peacemaker series is said to explore the origins of the world’s biggest douchebag, Peacemaker himself who believes in achieving peace at any cost, regardless of how many people he has to kill to get it.

The spin-off series is expected to have eight episodes and will be an action-adventure comedy. Penned by The Suicide Squad director Gunn himself, Gunn is determined to make the show an exciting entrance for what could possibly be a spin-off series for other The Suicide Squad members too.

“HBO came to me and said if I made a TV show based on someone from the squad – who would it be? I said there were so many characters I’d love to do a TV show about,” said Gunn in an Instagram comment response. “They said who would you like to do first? I said probably, Peacemaker. They said okay, here’s some money, go make something no one has ever seen before.”

Production is slated to begin in early 2021.
