Peter Stormare Says A Constantine Sequel Is In The Works

After more than a decade since its release, it seems that a sequel to 2005’s Constantine is finally in the works, according to actor Peter Stormare.

Stormare, who played Lucifer in the original film, recently posted an image of himself as Lucifer, with the caption “Sequel in the works.” Considering how it would be strange for the actor to make such a post without at least being contacted to reprise his role, we can safely assume that Stormare will also be part of the sequel.

Constantine first released in 2005 and despite being panned by critics and fans alike, it has grown to become a cult classic in the recent years, especially with movie fans being more accepting of comic book adaptations that aren’t super faithful to the source material, as well as Keanu Reeves’ jump in popularity due to the John Wick franchise.

Rumours of a sequel have been circling for years, with Reeves and director Francis Lawrence both expressing an interest in returning for the sequel should it ever be greenlit. Whether Reeves himself or Lawrence will actually turn up for this second installment, however, remains to beseen.

Hopefully, more news on the sequel will be released soon, including a confirmation on Reeves’ return, as well as the rest of the cast for the film.
