Chris Evans Doesn’t Deny He’s Returning As Captain America

Chris Evans may be suiting up once again to reprise his role of Captain America.

According to Deadline, the actor is headed to return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property that may eventually open a door for a second film.

Though it may not be a standalone film or an instalment to Evan’s completed Captain America arc, the actor might suit up again as a supporting character ala Robert Downey Jr. appearing in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming after Iron Man 3.

Evans later took to Twitter to tease fans and did not deny the news of his return. Marvel, however, had no comment.

The last fans saw Evans with his red, white and blue shield was in Avengers: Endgame where he later passed the mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) after the character’s arc had seemingly come to an end.

The actor even confirmed in November 2019 that he won’t be returning to the role for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier or any other projects: “And then to stick the landing so well. It would be a shame to revisit unless there was something very unique that we felt the need to reveal. So, it feels like, let’s be content will how well it ended.”

How Captain America and Evans will fit into phase 4 of Marvel remains to be seen as Marvel Studios already have their plates full with dozens of projects hitting Disney+ in the next coming years, starting off with reality-bending sitcom series, WandaVision.
