‘Chainsaw Man’ Movie Revs Up First Looks On Reze Arc

It’s been over two years since the weirdly philosophical and amusingly compelling TV anime series Chainsaw Man took the internet by gory storm. No doubt, news of its continuation in the form of a movie has left fans wanting more than just a simple teaser. Thankfully, Studio MAPPA has breadcrumbed more info on Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc with another teaser trailer and two key visuals.

Based on the trailer, it would seem like Denji will be caught in a love triangle between Makima and a new girl called Reze — that is, at least, what it seems before the trailer spirals into the series’ usual chaotic clash between devils and Devil Hunters, and surprisingly large amounts of explosions (wink) before landing on a title card stating a 2025 release.

Accompanying the trailer are two key visuals: one featuring Chainsaw Man and the other of Denji and Reze like a couple in a cafe.

Fans can rest assured that their experience of watching Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will be similar to (if not better than) the TV series with MAPPA still at the fore of the production. Staff from the anime’s production powerhouse like Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover), the series’ director of its fourth and 10th episode, will return to direct the movie. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) will also return to write the script. Sota Shigetsugu (Kaiju No. 8) and Shoici will be the movie’s action animation director and main animator respectively.

Those familiar with the manga and anime fans alike will realise that nothing is as it seems and that this arc will be more than just a love triangle between Denji and the two girls. Come 2025, we will see whether Makima or Reze will win Denji’s heart (wink).
