‘Superman’ Trailer Smashes DC Records With Over 250 Million Views

It’s truly a super start for James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe, as the teaser trailer for Superman smashed DC and Warner Bros records with a whopping 250 million views in its first day.

“Krypto really did take us home,” said Gunn via a post on Instagram, “Superman is officially the most viewed and the most talked about trailer in the history of both DC and Warner Bros.”

With these reported numbers, the Superman trailer outclasses many of the year’s biggest hitters in terms of trailer views. The first Joker: Folie à Deux trailer, for example, garnered 167 million views in the same timeframe, while Inside Out 2 received 157 million views. The Deadpool and Wolverine trailer still reigns supreme, however, holding the record for the biggest launch trailer of all time with 365 million views.

The Superman trailer, which was released on 16 December, provided our first look at David Corenswet’s Man of Steel, alongside Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillon), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and most important of all, Krypto the Superdog. Superman will hit cinemas on 11 July 2025.
