ASUS Redefines Gaming With Brand New ROG Strix Gaming Laptops

With more people having to stay at home in self-quarantine, many are turning to gaming to keep themselves from being bored out of their wits. As such, it is important to get the right gaming equipment to make sure your gaming experience at home is the best that it can be.

This is where ASUS comes in with their newly released ROG gaming laptops, the Strix Scar 17 and the Strix G15 Electro Punk gaming laptop which was specially designed with female gamers in mind.

ROG Strix Scar 17

One of ASUS newest laptops, the ROG Strix Scar 17 comes with an ultrafast 300Hz, 3ms display along with the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GPU which allows for super-fast, competitive gaming on its large 17.3-inch screen. Furthermore, the Strix Scar 17 comes with an upgraded cooling system allows ROG Boost to clock GPU speeds of up to 1560MHz when the laptop is in Turbo mode.

First introduced in the ROG Strix Scar III, the Strix Scar 17 will come with the same 300Hz display. This super high refresh rate helps to ensure gamers do not miss a single detail when gaming, which might make the difference between winning or losing a match.

Not only that, the new Strix Scar 17 will come with the new 10th generation Intel Core i9-10980-HK CPU, allowing users to perform heavy-duty tasks such as gaming, streaming, and content creation with ease. The laptop will also come with two NVMe SSDs running in RAID 0 for faster load times, as well as a space for a third SSD in case users wish to upgrade their laptops.

As mentioned, the Strix Scar 17 comes with a unique cooling system that allows the GTX 2080 to work to its fullest potential. It comes with not one, or two, but four heatsinks to make a grand total of 284 heatsink fins to help raise the total surface area for heat dissipation in the laptop. An exotic metal liquid compound is also painted onto its CPU to help better transmit heat from the CPU to the heatsinks.

The Strix Scar 17 comes with the new Keystone II which allows users to link quick commands onto a small physical NFC-enabled key which docks onto the side of the laptop. Inserting the key will launch a specific programme of the users choice, or a specific operating mode. Whereas removing the key can instantly activate stealth mode on the laptop, with apps minimized and audios muted.

ROG Strix G15 Electro Punk

Specially designed with female gamers in mind, the Strix G15 Electro Punk comes in a striking pink-and-black colour combination that encompasses the whole laptop. Heavily inspired by a cyberpunk aesthetic, the Strix G15 Electro Punk comes with an RGB backlit keyboard, with the WASD buttons coloured in the laptop’s chosen neon pink. The rims of the laptop, as well as the ROG logo on the laptop’s lid also comes in the same striking shade of pink.

The Strix G15 Electro Punk has a 15.6-inch Full HD display with 240Hz refresh rate, and can come with up to 32 GB of DDR4 3200MHz SDRAM, and up to 1TB of SSD with Raid 0 support. Its sizeable 66Wh battery means you can bring it on the go for not just gaming but also everyday use. It is 2.5cm thin and weighs 2.39kg.
