Double the power, double the fun. In a collision of handheld and artificial reality (AR) gaming, Republic of Gamers (ROG) has unveiled the *takes a deep breath* ROG Xbox Ally X20 and ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses Ultimate Bundle, designed for its 20th anniversary celebration this year.
Marking a step up from the original ROG Xbox Ally, the former features an exclusive translucent black chassis with gold accents and a 7.4-inch Nebula HDR OLED display that delivers a 120Hz refresh rate, a 1,400-nit peak brightness, and FHD resolution. Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, it comes with gaming-specific support such as FreeSync Premium Pro with VRR and Xbox-inspired ergonomics, including TMR joysticks, impulse triggers, assignable back buttons, and a rubberised grip. Accessories-wise, the device can be paired with a Killswitch case — complete with a kickstand, travel cover, ROG stick grips, and a custom vinyl skin — and a heavy-duty protector case from Pelican.
The glasses, meanwhile, boast a 171-inch virtual screen at four metres, a 240Hz micro-OLED display with a 57-degree field of vision, and a near-instantaneous response time of 0.01 milliseconds. Alongside a 1,920-by-1,080-pixel resolution per eye, native 3Dof for head tracking, and Anchor Mode, which keeps the device in place during play, the eyewear also offers direct USB-C that allows users to plug directly into the Xbox Ally X20, as well as Command Center integration.
The Ultimate Bundle will retail exclusively on the ASUS Online Store for S$3,599. It packs in the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, a dbrand Killswitch for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a 68-watt adapter, and a custom Pelican Protector Case. Pre-orders open on 14 September.
