A HORI Joy-Con With D-Pad Is Coming, But Don’t Get Excited Just Yet

HORI, the Japanese accessory maker is finally fulfilling fan’s wishes by coming up with a left Joy-Con with a D-Pad. Nintendo Switch players will be happy to hear about this change, but this comes with some tradeoffs.

Firstly, this Joy-Con only works when directly connected to a Nintendo Switch Console, meaning it wouldn’t work in TV Mode or Tabletop Mode. Secondly, the Joy-Con doesn’t support HD rumble or gyroscope, and lacks motion controls as well. Oh, and looks like it only comes in blue.

But if you think you can sacrifice rumble and tilt control for the ease of using the D-Pad, it’s priced at 2480 yen (about $25 USD).

It’s due for launch in Japan in July 2018, with no word of international release yet.
