Jared Leto’s Morbius the Living Vampire Leaked Ahead Of Official Trailer

After flopping really hard as The Joker in Suicide Squad, Jared Leto isn’t quite done yet with the superhero biz, having defected to Sony’s Marvel Universe as Morbius the Living Vampire.

Since his initial social media update back in March 2019, both he and Sony have been silent on the Morbius movie front. However, the Internet, having been starved of the fanged Marvel antihero, managed to dig up a leaked closeup of Leto as the fully-transformed Morbius:

Here’s the original splash from the comics this still is based on:

Looks like Sony Pictures did their homework, and did it well. And the community is buzzing with anticipation for Leto’s version of Morbius.

In any case, there’s plenty else to be excited for Morbius, aside from the Oscar-winning artist portraying the character. Real name Michael Morbius, he was initially a biochemist who then developed a curious blood disease. He tried to cure himself but his attempt turned horribly wrong, tragically mutating him into a form of vampire.

From then on, he’s had multiple altercations with Spider-Man, but also at times fought side-by-side with him in the comics. Morbius makes the second anti-hero Marvel character that Sony is giving a live-action stint, after Tom Hardy’s Venom (which is already getting a sequel).

Leto will be joined by a slew of big names for Morbius, including Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (6 Underground) as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious 8), and the returning J. K. Simmons (Spider-Man: Far From Home) as J. J. Jameson.

No release date has been announced for Morbius yet, though we could get one from Sony’s official trailer dropping later today, January 13, 2020.
