Xbox Unveils Pricey But Customisable Fallout Controller

Between Amazon’s live-action series adaptation and a recent collaboration with Magic: The Gathering, the Fallout fever is certainly heating up. In light of the hype, Xbox and Bethesda have joined forces to release a Fallout-themed controller that’s available now on the Xbox Design Lab, but for a premium.

For the uninitiated, the Xbox Design Lab allows users to create their own gamepad design and pay a little more to have it shipped to them. The new addition features different iterations of franchise mascot Vault Boy and customisation options for trigger colours, the D-pad, thumbsticks, back plate, bumpers, and all of the face buttons. A short engraved message can even be added to the controller, if you’re willing to fork over the dough.

As it stands, the Fallout design will set fans back by US$85 at least, which is around US$10 more than a Design Lab Xbox controller with standard colours and features. Further customisation can easily bump the price tag to US$100, bearing in mind that this isn’t the Elite controller, just the usual wireless one.

There’s no word on the availability window for the Fallout controller, so interested parties should act fast. Xbox’s last big design project was for Starfield, which brought a smooth white finish and minimalist look to a themed console wrap — Microsoft’s answer to Sony’s removable side panels for its PS5 consoles.
