Ubisoft Expands Tom Clancy Universe With ‘The Division 3′

While much of Ubisoft‘s focus is on pushing out Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, there is still room for a solid franchise to get a new entry sometime in the future. For fans of the looter shooter, The Division 3 has officially been announced, with Julian Gerighty appointed as the producer that oversees the Tom Clancy’s The Division brand.

Acting as the current Creative Director on Outlaws over at Massive Entertainment, who are the folks behind The Division franchise, Gerighty will shift over to the brand once the Star Wars game is shipped. The series is not new to the producer, as he was part of the team who worked on both The Division that released in 2016 as well as The Division 2 in 2019.

His work will cover all of the products under the umbrella. Aside from The Division 3, it also includes the mobile title Resurgence, as well as the spinoff that is Heartland.

“We may have over 40 million players, but The Division is still in its early years as a franchise. There are so many incredible stories to tell, places to explore and people to protect,” said Gerighty.

“I think that we delivered that with Tom Clancy’s The Division’s cutting-edge visuals, incredible gameplay, and promise to the player that they can’t get this experience anywhere else, and then again with Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. It’s about refinement, it’s about pushing the quality bar consistently forward.”

The hope is that The Division 3 will build on the rock-solid foundations of the first two games, and continue to deliver to players an action-packed experience coupled with an engaging narrative. For now, work continues on Star Wars Outlaws, and after that, it will be full steam ahead for Gerighty and the team he puts together. Hopefully, we will learn more about the shooter sometime in 2024.
