The Legend of Lara Croft begins with a new Netflix animated series set to premiere this October, picking up after the events of the Tomb Raider Survivor timeline games. The announcement comes as Lara Croft gets a revamped look for future games and an Amazon live-action series in the works.
Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) voices Lara Croft, with Allen Maldonado and Earl Baylon, who will reprise his role as supporting character Jonah Maiava from the games. The Witcher: Blood Origin writer Tasha Huo serves as a producer on the show.
Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.
We’re excited to see where Lara’s adventures take the Tomb Raider franchise, so stay tuned for when Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft drops on 10 October.
