Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Is Gender Fluid Based Off New TV Promo

With the premiere of Loki on Disney+ fast approaching, Marvel has been releasing featurettes and even behind-the-scenes footage on the anticipated show. However, with the latest promo video released, eagle-eyed fans were able to identify a specific detail that finally brings in an ability not yet seen in the MCU until now.

As we all know, the second son of Odin has the ability to disguise himself as other people yet we’ve never seen him shapeshift his own form into someone of the opposite sex. That all changes when the TVA’s folder lists Loki’s sex as fluid. Additionally, this is just not an explicit LGBTQ+ representation in the MCU but also a confirmation of the appearance of Lady Loki in the show.

Lady Loki is essentially no different from the Loki we have known to love but one difference is that she was created after the God of Mischief inhabited a human body previously meant for the spirit of Lady Sif. Loki was able to take over this body and do what he’s known best to do – trick and manipulate.

Furthermore, the 2019 novel Loki: Where Mischief Lies by Mackenzi Lee had Loki’s gender fluidity and pansexuality confirmed as canon, at least in the current comic timeline. And it seems like it will be canon in the MCU as well.

Nevertheless, Loki’s gender fluidity is an element of his character that is very much welcome. With how integral Lady Loki has become to the god’s character in newer comic arcs, her possible appearance is definitely an exciting sight to see.

Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ on 9 June, and what’s a great pair to watch the series but with your very own Loki Charms.
