Activision has announced that the newest addition to its Call of Duty franchise will be titled Black Ops – Cold War and will be a cross-gen title that will be made available on both the current PS4 and Xbox One consoles as well as the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the PC.
However, unlike most other games that offer free upgrades from the current consoles to the next-gen ones, the next-gen console upgrades for Black Ops – Cold War will be locked behind a US$10 paywall, with both current and next-gen consoles getting their own versions of the game.
This means that there are effectively 10 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War that you can consider buying, and to make sure you don’t get too confused when deciding which version to get, here’s a handy table to help you out.

If you wish to purchase the game for your PC, you can choose to purchase either the US$60 Standard Edition which comes with early access to the game’s open beta but a handful of weapon blueprints, or the US$90 Ultimate Edition which gives you a battle pass, and the Land/Sea/Air Pack with three operator skins, three weapon blueprints, and three vehicle skins.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will be released on 13 November 2020.
