‘The Sandman’ Season 2 Reveals New Characters with Orpheus, Odin, Thor, Loki & More

Wake up babe, Netflix just announced more cast members for Season 2 of The Sandman. The series has found its Orpheus, Wanda, Nuala, Cluarcan, Loki, Thor, Odin, Puck, and Barnabas, as revealed on social media.

These new additions join previously announced cast members Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, Adrian Lester as Destiny, and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal. Returning from Season 1 are Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, and Donna Preston as Despair.

In Season 1, viewers followed Dream, also known as The Sandman, who had been imprisoned for over a century. The series explores themes of dreams, destiny, and the consequences of cosmic power.

Not sure who’s who in the dream cast of the upcoming season? Here’s all you need to know about the new and returning characters in The Sandman Season 2.

The Sandman S2

Ruairi O’Connor (The Morning Show) portrays Orpheus, the son of Dream and the muse Calliope, known for his poetic sensibilities and tragic fate. Freddie Fox (The Three Musketeers) embodies Loki, the charming and cunning god of chaos. Meanwhile, Clive Russell (Sherlock Holmes) portrays Odin, Thor’s father and a longtime ally of Dream facing dire circumstances.

Laurence O’Fuarain (Vikings) steps into the role of Thor, the formidable storm god wielding his legendary hammer Mjollnir. Ann Skelly (Death and Nightingales) portrays Nuala, a responsible and empathetic emissary from the Faerie realm. This contrasts with Douglas Booth’s (Jupiter Ascending) Cluracan, a pleasure-seeking rogue.

Joining the lineup is Indya Moore (Pose) as Wanda, a skilled driver and security agent integral to the Endless’s journey. Steve Coogan (Minions: This Rise of Gru) voices Barnabus, a loyal yet sharp-tongued canine companion.

Most notably, Jack Gleeson brings Puck to life, a mischievous hobgoblin and royal jester in Faerie. Gleeson gained fame for playing Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2014. Afterwards, he took a hiatus from acting but has taken on several small roles here and there.

The forthcoming season, developed and executive produced by Neil Gaiman, Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer, promises to deepen the mythos and expand upon the intricate world introduced in Season 1. Jamie Childs directs all episodes of The Sandman Season 2, continuing to bring Gaiman’s visionary storytelling to life on screen.

Sadly, there is still no official release date for The Sandman Season 2, so keep your sand-crusted eyes peeled for updates.
