The Huawei Sound X Speaker, Powered By Devialet, Takes High-End Audio To New Heights

Huawei has joined forces with French audio brand Devialet to release the Huawei Sound X, a wireless Hi-Fi smart speaker that comes with not just one but two subwoofers that work to deliver 60W of booming bass while remaining compact and portable.

Though some might not be familiar with the brand Devialet, many might instantly recognise its Phantom speakers for not only its unique aesthetic but also unparalleled performance. With its 76 awards and 160 technological patents, Devialet is without a doubt a leader in acoustics worldwide.

It is Devialet’s premium technology, specifically its proprietary signal-processing Speaker Active Matching (SAM) which helps to produce high-fidelity sound as well as its iconic symmetrical Push-Push acoustic design for the dual subwoofers, which Devialet states help to cancel out internal vibrations at higher volumes.

Not only does the Huawei Sound X sound good, but it also looks good with its sleek black cylindrical body coated with impact-resistant polycarbonate for optimal durability. The lower portion of the speaker is encased with a dust and splatter proof fabric, and the buttons at the top are encircled with an RGB ring light indicator that changes with the speaker’s different operations.

Audio sharing is made easy on the Huawei Sound X as you can simply pair a Huawei smartphone to the speakers by tapping your phone against the speaker’s NFC area. If you don’t have a Huawei smartphone, you can also choose to play your audio via Wi-Fi through the speakers.

The Huawei Sound X will be available from 4 July at S$498 in all Huawei concept stores, online stores such as Lazada and Shopee, and authorised retailers.

Aside from the Huawei Sound X, Huawei has also recently released its newest smartphone, the Huawei P40 Pro+ which comes with the Chinese company’s very own search tool Petal Search.
