‘The Boys’ Spin-off ‘Gen V’ Red Band Trailer Teases Cutthroat, Gory College Life

A different kind of school will soon be in session, and it’s one filled with bloodshed, cutthroat violence, and superpower madness. The Boys spin-off Gen V has offered an uncensored look at its college-set action, teasing the characteristic gore that its predecessor is so well known for.

The red band trailer for the show serves as a closer look at a whole new world of supes, and builds on previously-released footage that highlighted Godolkin University and exploding genitals. Introduced by Clancy Brown as Professor Rich “Brink” Brinkerhoff, who trained several big names within the Seven, it shines the spotlight on some of these enhanced individuals, such as one with the grotesque ability to wield her own blood as a weapon, a Human Torch-like supe, someone with laser sight, and another with shrinking capabilities.

Jaz Sinclair stars as Marie Moreau, joining an ensemble cast that includes Lizze Broadway (Emma Shaw), Sean Patrick Thomas (Polarity), Chance Perdomo (Andre Anderson), Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips (Cate Dunlap), London Thor and Derek Luh (Jordan), Asa Germann (Sam Riordan), Patrick Schwarzenegger (Golden Boy), and Marco Pigossi (Dr. Edison Cardosa).

Some familiar faces are also poised for a return. Alongside the physical appearances of Vought’s Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), politician Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Seven will grace the series in spirit, taking the form of a hilariously absurd ceiling portrait and a bronze Homelander statue.

The Boys Gen V Red Band Trailer

Gen V will debut on Amazon Prime Video with three episodes on 29 September. Subsequent episodes will drop weekly on Fridays through 3 November. The official synopsis is as follows:

Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes—preferably with lucrative endorsements. You know what happens when supes go bad, but not all superheroes start out corrupt. Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations … literally. As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. When the group of young supes discover that something bigger and sinister is going on at school, they’re put to the test: Will they be the heroes or the villains of their stories?
