The last time we heard about the upcoming Mega Man movie was its announcement back in 2018. Since then, it slowly faded away from view… and it’s up and running again, apparently.

The live-action adaptation of the iconic platforming game by Capcom is still in pre-production, as it struggles to assemble a core team. aside from Paranormal Activity co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman.
This time around, we understand that Mattson Tomlin will be coming on board as the screenwriter for the movie.

First reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the current writer for The Batman and Fear Agent is attached to Chernin Entertainment to pen the script for the movie.
While we’re still very much in the dark about the exact status of Mega Man, Tomlin posted a gif on his Twitter in response to the reports.
No release date nor casting has yet been announced for Mega Man.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
