TGS 2019: We Want All These Exclusive Sega Mega Drive Mini Cartridge Gachas!

Check out all of our TGS 2019 coverage here!

Tokyo Game Show 2019 will be in full swing starting today, and no doubt many who are heading there will be raring to have a go at the demos for the likes of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Final Fantasy VII Remastered.

However, that’s definitely not all TGS 2019 has to offer, as there are tons of cool and cute collectibles to be had, should you know where to look. One, in particular, caught our eye, as it is a gacha machine producing the most amazing Sega Mega Drive mini replica cartridges!

This particular gacha machine is among twelve similar machines, located at the Sega Merchandise Booth at Tokyo Game Show 2019 (Halls 9 to 11, should you happen to be there as well).

It costs ¥500 (about S$6.30) a pop, and you’ll get a miniature cartridge of an actual Sega Mega Drive game (though they’re unplayable, of course, and would’ve been region-locked anyway).

And we’re talking classics from the days of yore; The Super Shinobi, Golden Axe, Shining Force, and – how can we forget – Sonic the Hedgehog.

A word of warning though, these Japanese cartridges will only fit the Sega Mega Drive Mini variant (see all the different versions here). Sorry Sega Genesis Mini owners, you’ll have to settle for the Sonic pre-order bonus, which is about the same size as the one you see above.

In any case, we think this would be a hot seller among the Sega fanboys.
