Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Gets New Animated Movie With Seth Rogen At The Helm

With an IP as iconic as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it’s only a matter of time before one sees yet another rendition or rehash of an older work come to fruition on the big or small screen.

Most recently, we have learned that a new animated movie is in the works by Nickelodeon, in collaboration with Point Grey Pictures, the Canadian production company founded by Seth Rogen (This is the End, Sausage Party, The Boys).

The Wrap reports that Jeff Rowe (Gravity Falls, Disenchantment) will be directing, while Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) will be penning the screenplay. Paramount Pictures is the global distributor for the movie.

No release date nor principal voice cast have yet to be announced.

This will be Nickelodeon Animation Studio’s first-ever CG feature film, having only done two animated series ever since the company acquired the rights to the franchise in 2012. The current ongoing series is Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Also to clarify, this reboot is also not to be confused with the live-action TMNT counterpart, which is currently still in development by A Quiet Place producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
