Tatiana Maslany Lands Lead Role In Disney+ She-Hulk Marvel Series

Not long after Disney+ announced that it has found a director for its upcoming Marvel series She-Hulk, it seems a lead actress has also been found with Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany reportedly nearing a deal that will land her the titular role.

According to Variety, Maslany is slated to star as Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner. After receiving some of his blood via a transfusion, she ended up inheriting some of Bruce’s powers but unlike the Hulk, is able to keep her intelligence and personality when Hulking out and not fly into a rage. This allows her to balance her life as both a superhero and a lawyer.

The series will be directed by Kat Coiro, with Rick and Morty’s Jessica Gao serving as the lead writer.

Maslany is the latest female actress to star in her own MCU project, following in the footsteps of fellow female stars such as Captain Marvel’s Brie Larson and Black Widow’s Scarlett Johansson. The actress is best known for her Emmy-winning role in Orphan Black where she played numerous characters.

She-Hulk is one of the many Marvel series that will be premiering on Disney+, alongside other shows from the MCU such as WandaVision which is set to debut later this year, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

She-Hulk is set to air on Disney+ sometime in 2022.
