Since Terminator star Linda Hamilton was cast in Stranger Things Season 5, the Duffer Brothers have remained tight-lipped about her role, and so is the actress herself, only revealing that she would not be watching the season that she’s in.
Hamilton also shared about grappling with impostor syndrome from being in one of the biggest TV shows to date in an interview with Us Weekly, saying that, “When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project], once I’m in something. It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So I won’t be watching [season 5].”
The fifth season is currently in production, with filming having started on 8 January. As for the show’s ending, David Harbour, playing Hopper in the series, shared that the ending would bid an emotional farewell to Hawkins, but left details vague. The Duffer Brothers have only revealed to Hamilton “the shape of the character, but not of the story,” leaving excited fans (and herself) in suspense.
“I still don’t know how it ends. And it takes a lot of discipline to not know where it’s going to go. But that’s to protect it from all of the people that want to know,” said the star.
Stranger Things Season 5 has no confirmed release date yet, so we’ll have to wait to see what role Linda Hamilton’s character plays in the show.
