Marvel Comics has certainly gone all out with its Predator franchise crossovers, with violent graphic adventures like 2023’s Predator vs. Wolverine and this year’s Predator vs. Spider-Man. Still, it seems like the iconic apex hunter is looking to greatly expand his trophy collection, with the reveal of Marvel’s most bloody crossover event yet – Predator Kills the Marvel Universe.
As the culmination of writer Benjamin Percy’s (X-Force, Wolverine) previous work on the Predator vs. saga, the upcoming series will reunite him and artist Marcelo Ferreira (Avengers Assemble, Spider-Man: Black Suit & Blood) in a bloodbath for the ages in the same vein as 1995’s Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe and 2011’s Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe.
“Over the past few years, I’ve been having the time of my life writing the Predator Vs. series,” said Percy while speaking to IGN, “The Yautja have hunted Wolverine across the decades. They’ve battled Black Panther and plundered Wakanda of its vibranium. And they’ve faced off against Spider-Man and Kraven during a blackout heat wave in New York. These stories have been patiently building toward something epic. Their interconnectedness will be revealed in this explosive, blood-drenched, five-part story.”
“That title? It’s not misdirection,” he added, “This one’s gonna hurt. Your favourite heroes and villains will fall… even as others rise up against this extinction-level event. The Predator King is here, the Yautja are armed with vibranium, and Earth is now a hunting preserve.”
But how would a lone Predator hold his own against Marvel’s host of superpowered individuals like Thor, the Hulk or the Fantastic Four? The answer? Vibranium, apparently, as hinted by Percy, who references last year’s Predator vs. Black Panther, which saw the Yautja raid the Wakandan mines in search of the tech and weaponry they refer to as “godmetal”, vibranium.
“Every character is on the chopping block,” Percy concluded, “No one’s safe. No one. The brutal and bloody first issue makes that immediately clear. We’re not holding back, so armour up.” This certainly doesn’t bode well for Marvel’s beloved heroes.
The first issue of Predator Kills the Marvel Universe will be released on 13 August 2025.
