The first trailer for Wednesday season 2 has officially dropped, offering a stylish return to Nevermore Academy with even more murder, mystery, and macabre flair.
Opening with Wednesday breezing through airport security, only to unload an entire arsenal of concealed weapons, the trailer wastes no time reintroducing her dry wit and dangerous charm. A haunting rendition of “My Favourite Things” plays in the background as she makes her way back to Nevermore Academy. Familiar faces await her return, including her werewolf roommate Enid, who greets her with unfiltered enthusiasm. It doesn’t take long for things to get weird again.
The official synopsis for Season 2 is as follows, “Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”
Instead of releasing all at once like the first season, Wednesday season 2 will drop in two parts. Part one is set to launch on 6 August, followed by part two on 3 September. It’s a strategy Netflix has increasingly used with popular titles like Stranger Things and Bridgerton, designed to extend conversation around the series and drive more sustained viewership. Given Wednesday’s staggering debut performance (among the most-watched English-language seasons in Netflix history) this staggered release could very well amplify its reach even further.

Jenna Ortega returns to lead a familiar ensemble, including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester. Nevermore students Enid, Eugene, Ajax, and Tyler are all set to return as well, each bringing their own secrets and subplots. The cast expands in season 2 with new additions such as Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Lady Gaga, and Noah B. Taylor, whose roles remain shrouded in mystery.
Based on the trailer, Netflix seems confident that this season will continue the success of the first. If the eerie visuals and biting one-liners are any indication, Wednesday season 2 could go beyond living up to expectations — it might just bury them.
Wednesday Season 2 will stream on 6 August, with the part two following on 3 September.
